They see the world as a zero sum game. They can’t imagine being happy unless someone else is unhappy.

Regardless of how many sides there are, it is an undeniable fact that plenty of people (in the USA in particular, apparently, a majority of the voters) choose to be in (a) side(s) that want(s) to enslave, murder, and rape.

And many others choose to be in (a) side(s) that enable(s) the previous one(s).

No civilised society should accept any of those sides, or those that choose them.

Most people seem to want others not to have a good life, ignoring or disregarding the effects that might have on themselves.

Many if not most would sacrifice their own wellbeing if that guarantees that “the right people” will also suffer. They see the world as a zero sum game, and can’t conceive the possibility of having a good life if others aren’t having a bad one.

Most people suck, often to the point of being monstrous by any decent definition.

Or use NewPipe if you don’t need to sync with your Google account.

We’re talking about Donald Trump here… you could replace him with an animatronic muppet and the only thing people would notice is that he looked healthier and didn’t smell as bad.

That’s their end goal: no choice whatsoever, you watch 30 minutes of ads, followed by the 30 second video the algorithm wants you to watch (which is also an ad), 30 more minutes of ads, and so on.

And, since they also own chrome, you can’t go to any other page without first spending at least six hours watching youtube.

That’s tragic, LG monitors used to be great.

But it’s trivial to torrent their content at whatever resolution I want…

Because they’re not pro life, they’re pro suffering.

And they want to control others (against their will if possible), so ending someone’s life and forcing someone to gestate a baby or die in the process fall in exactly the same bag.

Invincible, Arcane, Hazbin Hotel, The Legend of Vox Machina, Solar Opposites, The Boys presents: Diabolical, Krapopolis, Castlevania, Blue Eye Samurai, Star Trek: Lower Decks… and I’m sure I’m missing plenty (I intentionally left out anything by DC since you’d probably put them in the same bag as Marvel).

Frankly, adult western cartoons are probably more popular (and much higher quality) now than they’ve ever been before…

That’s a good rule of thumb… but it’s probably not enough; no reasonable definition would call Jupiter a star, or even a brown dwarf, or the Solar System a binary system, yet the Sol - Jupiter barycentre is outside the sun… (the whole system’s barycentre is sometimes inside the sun, but that’s due to Saturn’s, Uranus’, and Neptune’s pulls cancelling Jupiter’s).

I’d call the barycentre thing a necessary but not sufficient requirement; a proper definition of double planet should probably also take into account other factors like the relative mass and density of the bodies, and their minimum and maximum distance.

I use a 13 year old PC because a newer one will be infected with Windows 11. (The company refuses to migrate to Linux because some of the software they use isn’t compatible.)

They’re not bad developers, they just haven’t yet been hurt enough to develop protective mechanisms against scams like these.

They are not the problem. The scammers selling the LLM’s as something they’re not are.

I was lucky enough to not have access to LLMs when I was learning to code.

Plus, over the years I’ve developed a good thick protective shell (or callus) of cynicism, spite, distrust, and absolute seething hatred towards anything involving computers, which younger developers yet lack.

No. LLMs are very good at scamming people into believing they’re giving correct answers. It’s practically the only thing they’re any good at.

Don’t blame the victims, blame the scammers selling LLMs as anything other than fancy but useless toys.
