I actually feel one problem with the modern age, in america in particular, is this idea of everyone doing everyone for themselves. doctor, accountant, lawyer, mechanic, it guy, plumber, electrician. Initially gas stations pumped the gas, checked your fluids and tires, and would top you off as part of the service. no one did that stuff. if your tv broke you called in the tv repairman and you got your milk from a milkman. people were expected to know their jobs and not necessarily everyone elses.

I know tons of people even 30 years ago that could not check the oil on their car and would call triple A or their insurance company for a flat tire. Heck I had a friend we practically had to beg to bring his car in for an oil change and that is just a number and calendar date to keep track of and most places put a little sticker to give you that information.

Most certainly. When I was young a burger king the food was better and you did not need to say fresh from the broiler as that was default that way. Ironically mdconalds has in some ways gotten better compared to long ago. they made the warming light thing famous. Wendys I would say has kept its quality up the best but still has fallen. taco bell does some interesting things over time but I swear they have invented new technology to slather less and less of their meat flavored slop onto the product. Chicken places have kept up quality in their main sutff but have come out with more and more cheap stuff to stay competitive and cheapened the sides to. Honestly when you had buck stuff and meals under 5 bucks combined with needing something fast to fill your pie hole it was a temptation, but now with many meals over 10 and anything a dollar is now pure trash I find I prefer to miss a meal than pick up anything. Heck even gas station roller stuff is like 5 bucks now.

oh things have been horrible. I think the cobra has fixed its eff up and we have insurance but it won’t show on the portal for another day or two and we already had to cancel the near term appoinments. will see if I can get glasses this weekend.

I mean you should be able to unsubscribe the same way as you unblock. Would not be bad to have an override to so you could go through and unblock some stuff. Like if someone signed up for my blocklist they would have a bunch of sports stuff blocked because I have no interest in it.

I got annoyed because it would crash and then when you would be placed at the start and have to fastforward but then when you got to certain points in the fast forward it would flip to commercials. to damn annoying.

I have recommended at times being able to subscribe to a persons block list. Like being so impressed with someone that its like. Hey if they block it then I don’t want to see it. Especially given the spam. I would love all the power to block to be in the hands of individuals. Im generally against defederating or even moderators to some degree. It sometimes feels to me like the people who don’t like individuals blocking stuff get all onboard with it being blocked for people from higher ups.

I agree with it as non sarcasm. Yeah years ago there was the bubble but there is loads of crap now. You have to filter and its up to the individual to do it for good reasons and not just feelings.

It really comes down to freedom. Its great to be able to do whatever you want but having the time to but not be capable of doing what you want just is a new type of lack of freedom.
