One of the ladders aboard my carrier that led down to DC Central was a bit steeper than that. The first time most people saw it, they couldn’t believe how close to an ordinary vertical ladder it was.
To add to the chaos, the handrails on either side were way too far apart to use with both hands. And as if that wasn’t enough of nightmare, and a scuttle right above it that I had to pass through with my duty belt on. Carriers are death traps, and should qualify a sailor for HDIP.
At what point does a set of stairs become a wall? How thin can steps be before they are no longer considered steps?
I don’t know but I think it’s fair to say if it becomes necessary to ask those questions then you went too far.
