  • Please find me a statement he made saying it was just a harmless wave, because unless I missed something recently, he has not said anything of the sort. He hasn’t denied making the salute. He hasn’t claimed he meant something else. He hasn’t said that it was a lie or a conspiracy. A lot of groups and the media have made those claims for him, but Musk has yet to deny anything.

That’s the whole point of OP’s post. Musk himself has not made any statement contradicting the Nazi narrative.

  • Dude, watch the video, it’s like 10 seconds long. He does the salute, twice. Not in a “oh this could be construed as something else”, but a full on seig heil. Twice.

He then posted the video of himself doing it on Twitter. Not with any explanations or defense of his actions, just the video.

He gave a Nazi salute and is proud of it. And idiots like you are scrambling to try and give him the benefit of the doubt when literally no doubt exists.

  • I get why Max wasn’t added in more after this, but I wish he had been. There are a lack of adults that Calvin both likes and respects. I think a lot of people have childhood memories of the “cool uncle” that only came around a handful of times, but left a lasting impression. Would have been nice to see some of that dynamic.

  • People have gone insane on both sides of AI.

Pro-AI people are delusional, thinking it can solve every problem under the sun when it very clearly can’t. They refuse to acknowledge the limitations and try to ham-fist it into every technology, even when it makes things worse. AI should not be used for what should be human decisions, it’s fucking crazy that we need to say that. AI should not set the price of goods, AI should not decide if your medical procedure is approved or not, AI should not be used to write scientific papers. AI in weaponry is literally asking for a black mirror scenario. Those that are trying to force it into things are usually only doing so because it’s a buzzword and never stop to consider if its actually adding any value.

On the other hand, Anti-AI people are insufferable. They have a visceral, knee-jerk reaction to anything AI related and refuse to acknowledge the benefits. They shit on anyone and everything that DARES to use AI while ignoring that it’s a tool that absolutely has a place. The people shitting on things like DLSS are out of their fucking minds. “Noooo, it uses AI slop to generate fake frames! It’s not reeeeeeaaaalllll!!!” Ok, but does it make games look better and increase the perceived FPS? Yes? Ok, so what’s the fucking problem? People are seriously complaining about a technology that will make hardware remain in service for longer without becoming obsolete.

The only people I respect at this point are those who are standing on the sidelines going “well, let’s just see where this technology takes us”.

  • Honestly that site is genius.

They provide as much information as possible for all their hardware. Specs, drawings, CAD models, similar products, item codes, CAGE codes, everything! All without requiring an account or membership. Why do that when someone could just take that info and use it to find a cheaper source? Especially when they’re more expensive than other sources by 25% or more? Well because engineers will often grab their models and use them in their designs, and when it comes time to order things, knowing the parts ordered will have the exact dimensions and specifications as the ones in your model is often worth the premium. Plus they have so many products that if it’s not on their website, there’s a good chance it doesn’t exist anywhere.

Most other hardware sellers use the worst model imaginable for their sites. The kind where it’s like “Oh, you’d like some tubing? Well give us an email, make an account, and send a message to our sales team to put together a quote for you. And we won’t share the full specs until you do, so there’s no guarantee that we even have what you want.”

McMaster really embraced the philosophy that if you make things as easy as possible for your customers, they’ll choose you even if you’re more expensive.

  • Which is why I feel that for humanity to succeed we will eventually need an entirely new form of societal governance to replace capitalism & communism, just as those systems replaced feudalism and tribalism. Something like technoism where decisions are made and enacted by machines, incapable of self motivation; or geneticism where leaders’ selfish impulses are either bred or edited out of them. We are still many, many years off from technology being able to accomplish this, but the only way to overcome the human factor is to… well… remove the human factor.
